Reverse Default List?
 

Is there a chart anywhere in GURPS that lists what skills default from a certain skill?

Say if I'm trained in Skill A, I can use A to use B, C, and D as a default of A.
Instead of I can use Skill A at a default if I'm trained in B, C, or D.

Someone more computer-savvy than me should be able to dig a complete list out of the GCA data files. It's just a scripting issue.

Why do you need it, though?

It would just open up more options for players. Also, it would be much easier when someone asks "Hey, since I know this skill, could I also do this?" so that I don't have to quickly search through the book.

The big one would be more options. People new to GURPS would find it easier to do things if they knew exactly what all their options were.

There are a lot of resources for spells for example to show the possibilities and connections, but not for regular skills.

Most often it's fairly logical. If two skills cover related subjects, they tend to default to each other.

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm just a perfectionist and obsessed with being prepared for anything that might come up during a session. I've been setting up a game for a month now, and I've made so many combat tables and injury charts lol. Basically like a super GM screen. Knowing me, I could see myself creating this for myself one day just because.

Not really - it doesn't list defaults at all. I find the easiest way to answer these questions ad-hoc is a search in p301-4 of the Characters PDF.
