"The Limit" You cannot use any items in your next combat.
If someone uses it on you when already in combat, does it applies immediately or only in the next combat? What defines a combat, what is the next combat?

If someone applies it to you during your combat, you get affected by it until the current combat is over. Combat is when a monster is fighting and generally trying to kill you.
