Epic Munchkin

Hi guys, my friends and I are having an epic Munchkin evening tomorrow (none of us have ever played epic before) and I'm going to use base set my question is how many expansions should I include for 4 players and any combinations that you think would work well.

Was thinking deranged and half horse?

My opinion: shuffle everything you have together and go to town! :) It makes it deliciously random.

I always would play epic with one expansion at least, but I prefer two or three.

Make sure to start shuffling an hour or two in advance.

The 2-3 hours of proper shuffling can net 20-30 hands played, so I think it is worth it. You just have to shuffle Dungeons, Seals, Fairy Dust, Munchkinomicon Spells, and Character cards before each hand. The combinations are nearly limitless, and I agree with Enzzo that it is "Deliciously Random." It also makes the epic plays more interesting with Race, Class, Loyalty, Accent, Birthright, and Faction all having their own nifty epic powers. And have a "representative sample" of the cards(about the size of 2-3 base sets) as your "deck," because certain dungeons/seals/cards make you reshuffle the deck, so if you had the entire stack out, that would be a 2-hour break in the middle of a player turn, and that is just not conducive to a party atmosphere.

If you're brand new to Epic, I wouldn't blend sets at all and I'd stick to just one or two expansions to whichever core game you decide to use. Munchkin through Clerical Errors would be perfect, for instance. That way, you're only learning a single set of Epic abilities at a time.

My suggestion, as always, is everything Steed-filled. Munchkin with 4 Need for Steed, 5 De-Ranged and 8 Half-Horse Will Travel is my favorite.
