When is a Gnome alone?
The race card titled 'Gnome' may activate it's illusion ability by discarding a monster card from hand. This may only happen when the player is "alone". Does having a hireling in play exclude being alone? Does having a steed in play exclude being alone?

Re: When is a Gnome alone?
A Gnome is alone whenever he doesn't have a helper, which is another player joining the combat. Neither a Hireling nor a Steed counts as a helper.

Re: When is a Gnome alone?
Maybe the term 'helper' should be capitalized, italicized, or bolded every time it appears officially?
I realize this would be a big hurdle, especially when considered as effort in support of a game. |
Re: When is a Gnome alone?
If we were relaunching the game, we would probably do exactly that -- or at least make it FAR more clear in the rules that "helper" is a specific game term with a specific definition.
We aren't relaunching the game, however, so we'll have to make do. |
