I feel dumb for asking, but with regards to this newly released 15-card set...can these cards be found in base sets of Munchkin? Are they in any of the expansions or booster packs? Or are they completely separate?

I just bought this as well. There are two unique Zombie monster cards, John of the Dead and Santa Clause undead. There is an Apocalypse Go up a Level card and a Cthulhu Promo Card. The rest are regular munchkin backs of door and treasure cards. Supposedly these were all promo card types given at various events and not found in any base sets , expansions or boosters. That's why I bought it.

After I posted this, I looked at the 2011 Booster pack I purchased from Warehouse 23, and there are a few duplicates. I also have Cut In Line which I either got as a bonus with my last order or it came with something else I bought at a store. Can't remember. So, for me, I'd have at least 4 duplicate cards.

Only 3 cards are new, the other 12 will be duplicates if you've been collecting promos for a while.

I paid 7 dollars plus 8 shipping for 3 cards. :-(

I would point out that the card list is on the website, so we aren't hiding what's in the set. I'm sorry to hear that some people feel slighted.

Yes, it does say on the product page that 12 of them are reprints. For those that haven't already spent time and money getting them, this is a much better option. For the rest of us (me at least), I'm going to put my duplicates in my Legends deck and the 3 new cards in my Fantasy deck. Definitely still buying the pack to get the 3 new cards though.

Who cares? Is it in the rules that duplicates can't be in the same deck? And if you have all the expansions, you have a HUGE deck (heh heh). Why not split it up into custom, smaller decks. Have a few unique duplicates might be neat for this scenario.

Does anyone know if there's a chance the Pegasus card will be back?

For some reason, that's a very popular and hard to find card.

Well, one of the 3 new cards is for Zombies. I suppose you could still put it in your Fantasy deck if you wanted, though. (For that matter, the 12 reprints include, I believe, a Cthulhu card, an Apocalypse card, and two more Zombies cards, so you may not want to put them ALL in your Legends deck. ;-) )

Fair enough lol. I may just give the non fantasy backed duplicates to a friend who only has the older sets. Or put them in the same decks anyway. I'll figure it out this weekend when I pick the pack up.

I hope we see more Promoted Boosters and Bookmark Collections. I like seeing hard to find reprints with new cards.

For the collectors out there, do you keep the Gets Promoted cards that you already have as normal promos, or give one lot away, I just am aware that my boxes of holding are bulging a bit!

Personally, when I get Munchkin Gets Promoted, I am going to put the booster in my deck and keep my promo version in my "promo deck" (which consists solely of promos so I can keep track of them) as they have different symbols to the best of my knowledge.

I second this! I'd love the pegasus steed to be reprinted in full color! I've wanted one for such a long time. I really hope they make more reprint packs!

....It already has been reprinted in color once. It was in the Warehouse 23 2010 booster. Mind you that is out of print, but yeah it happened. (Unless you meant a reprint of the color version that was in that booster in which case this post is pointless, but I don't think that is what you meant.)

Yeah, we underestimated demand for it. Since our last day for orders is Wednesday, I wouldn't expect a restock before January, unfortunately. (But I could be wrong -- check back!)

Got this today and just realized... I paid almost $12 for a pack of cards that actually only had one card in it I didn't have yet that I needed (three new cards, only two are Fantasy Munchkin and one of those was just shipped out to me as a promo in my last order of 2013).

Thankfully, the awesome folks at W23 included three of the five promos I needed *and* two of the new coins. Yay! Four new cards and a new coin - worth the price of admission. :D

Oddly, they included a b&w copy of Step-and-a-Half from Munchkin Dice... which is also in the Gets Promoted booster. Not complaining, just a crazy random happenstance. :D

I got that Step-and-a-Half from Reloaded too. Curious about it because while it has the reloaded/Munchkin Dice icon on it. It wasn't in either set. Guess there was a change of plans back in the day and they've now found leftover of the old version. Either way it's fun to have.

That is funny... I didn't even realize. I just saw it wasn't in color and had the Dice icon on it, so I assumed it was from Munchkin Dice...

Andrew, is there an interesting story behind this one you'd like to share? :D

I was putting my cards away and went to put the extra (weird) Step-and-A-Half away with the few B&W cards I have when I noticed... this Mug the Shopkeeper card I have has the Dice icon on it too...

If I remember correctly, some cards got the Dice/Reloaded icon by accident. I don't remember a super interesting story or nefarious intent involved.

They found a bunch of the older version when we were cleaning off shelves in preparation for Ogre. There's no reason not to use them, so we're using them.

Well, that's not as exciting as I thought... but still kinda neat. Not for me, since I'm not about getting every version of every card (just every card to play with), but any chance of getting a list of promo cards that were misprinted with the Dice/Reloaded icon?

Sure.

Those weren't misprints; we didn't start using the promo icon until later.
