GURPS TORG

This is very much a work in progress, but I've put it up for the players so I might as well share it with you lot too:

Comments very much welcome! I'm sure I've missed things...

It probably wouldn't hurt to put hard returns between paragraphs. The way it's set up now, it's a bit hard to read on standard browser set-ups.

I'll try to give it a more thorough review later today.

It's not really intended for HTML at all. I'll pretty it up at some point.

It's been a while, but isn't the Living Land supposed to be TL0 (Stone Age), not TL 1 (Bronze Age)? Asyle I'd put at TL 3 with exceptions (similar to Yrth). Orrorsh and the Nile Empire both seemed 1 TL too high, but I was remembering the 3rd Ed. rules, before the Tech Levels changed. (They're still somewhat borderline.)

I also remember when rolling, ords (ordinary people) reroll and add on a 20, while possibility-rated people reroll and add on a 10 or 20. I wrote a program years ago to calculate the difference, and it was approximately a +1 for possibility-rated people. Perk-level Unusual Background?

The Living Land is canonically Tech Axiom 7: ""Metal is first smelted, tools may be made from first copper and then later from alloys like bronze." I agree it hasn't always felt that way in practice. (It always seemed to me the poor relation of the setting.) Both the Nile and Orrorsh are at the beginning of their GURPS TL; looking at B512 rather than B27, I think I'll drop them one level each to be a very mature lower-TL. Thanks.

Since every PC will be P-rated, I'm more inclined just to treat ords as mooks.

Why bother with "possibilities" as something separate from experience points in the first place? Possibilities were TORG's experience points. It is not true that being TL 9 in Japan means you are likely deeply involved with the invaders. A lot of people only became P-Rated after converting.

For flavour, mostly. And in theory I'd like to be able to award XP for training, which aren't convertible to possibilities -- though I may not end up using that.

Hmm. The impression I've got is that if you actually have high-tech skills -- rather than just owning a smartcar and a smarthouse that look after themselves -- you probably have a Kanawa connection. But I'm not planning to be hard-nosed on this anyway.
