Showing discards

Sorry for another newb question. I know once cards are discarded players can't look through the discard decks. (Unless a card grants access to). I know there are instances were peeps will potentially see cards you may discard back but I can't find a rule that states a player(s) must show all discards before discarding. Let's say my turn comes and i have 5 cards. I kick open a door, battle a monster alone and win 2 treasure. I pull 2 cards (now holding 7 cards). I discard 2 cards to the treasure pile do I have to show both of em? Sorry I didn't find the ruling. Thanks for your reply(s).

When discarding cards, you must do so openly. Here is an official post showing that to be correct (in the parentheses):

According to the latest version of the rules, no. You may only look through the discards when you play a card that specifically allows it.

(A corollary of that rule is that, when using an ability that requires one to discard, one must show the discards to the other players.)

Also, you are not required to immediately discard your two Treasure cards that you get from the combat. You only discard cards at the end of your turn (and only then if you are the lowest-Level or tied for lowest, giving them to the lowest-Level players if not), so you could potentially play those cards or sell them for levels and so on before you are forced to give them away for Charity.

Thanks for the quick reply, I knew about charity and stuff, but just couldn't find what you clarified. Thanks a mill.
