Looting a dead munchkin: able to loot cards from the players hand? Fate of a comrade

If you die, does the cards in the dead munchkins hand become eligible to be looted or only those that have been played to the table?

If a comrade was in play at the time of death (a comrade that couldn't be sacrificed or was chosen not to be sacrificed) is that comrade eligible to be taken from the looting process, if so would the item he is carrying go with him? Does it remain with the dead munchkin as race and class cards do waiting his fallen munchkin companion's return to life? Or is it simply discarded and not eligible to be looted?

As the rules say, you put your hand on the table and ALL cards (except cards such as Class and Race) may be looted.

The Comrade and any Item he is carrying may be looted -- separately. When looting a corpse, you get ONE CARD, not one card and anything that might be attached to it.

With the exception of an envenomed item correct? The envenomed item would remain with the item?

No. All attached cards can be considered removed from Items when it comes to looting. Each player is looting one card into their hand, which could be either the Item or Envenomed, but not both.

Edit: I will note that you also keep any Birthrights, given this is a Conan-specific question.

No. You loot one card, and only one card.
