Regarding Epic Munchkin
 

I am confused by the PDF download, and I feel as though I'm missing something.

Are the rules for "Epic Munchkin" related to some add-on card set that I am not aware of? (as suggested by these other races like Vampire) Or can these rules be applied straight to the starter deck, ignoring these other races I'm seeing?

If you don't have it, you can ignore it. There are many different genres, for lack of a better term, of Munchkin. The other Races and Classes are from the standalone games or expansions that they are mentioned under (so, Vampire is from Munchkin Bites!, while Ninja is from Munchkin Fu).
