Militia cancel disaster / history repeats ifself (Munchkin Apocalypse)
 
The seal "history repeats itself" is opened - the last disaster hits every player. The card also states that the player who opened the seal cannot escape the effects of this disaster.

One player has the class militia and "cancels the disaster". Does that mean

a) he cancels it for every player

b) he cancels it only for himself

c) he cancels it for everyone but not the player who was responsible for opening the seal?

I would think he would not be able to cancel the disaster at all. (Just my opinion and not an official answer)

The Militia player may cancel the effects of the Disaster on himself.

Unless the Militia player was the one to open the Seal, right, in which case he can't cancel it for anybody?

And does this mean that Militia cannot cancel other players' Disasters? It seems that the card is written in a way that would allow the Militia to cancel anybody's Disaster. Could they perhaps discard multiple sets of cards to cancel the Disaster for other players as well?

Sorry, I misread the OP. I thought the Disaster that was triggered was an "Open a Seal" disaster; in which case, the militia would not be able to cancel it, right?

I'd definitely agree with that seeing as that Disaster would only hit the player that opened History Repeats Itself and he can't stop it from happening to him in any way.
