Hmmm.... Now, there are some complicating matters when it comes to the comparative value of AFVs. For instance, a T34/85 does not have the firepower to take down a Panther head on; Likewise with the Mathilda II vs the Pz III.

But this could be solved by giving bonuses for superiority in "Heavy front armour" or "Long AT guns", in the regular fashion.

Remember that in the basic Mass Combat system, tanks just get a 25 (light), 40 (medium) or 60 (heavy).

All the numbers are subjective. At one time, I had created a crude formula that took into account (off-road) speed, (frontal and side) armor and armament in an objective way, but it has been lost to the mists of time.

Very cool info. I might even give them a try. Gives me a great idea for a gaming session for my group.

Some other random stuff:

I did consider taking the costs of vehicles from Steel Panthers and tweaking them until they fell into the Mass Combat ranges. However, since I wanted to share this project with others, for copyright reasons I decided not to use those numbers.

I didn't do anything with aircraft. Because of the way aircraft interact with the MC system, it was hard to tell what a 'fighter' and 'bomber' were supposed to represent. Was a bomber a level bomber like the B-17 or a dive-bomber like the Ju 87? Was a fighter a straight fighter like the Me 109 or a fighter-bomber like the P-47? Probably, aircraft should be rated on a (roughly) 50-100 scale based on their effectiveness in ground support, but that can be argued against.
