Illuminati/INWO- Institute for Advanced Weapon Design
I cannot find any information about this card. I may start reading through old Pyramid mags. Any have a clue what the story is on this card?

If memory serves, that was a promo card for INWO that was included with some magazine (I forget which specific title).

Oh man, this has been driving me nutty too! I saw the listing on eBay for this, but have never seen or heard of this card anywhere during the last year+ I've been trying to put together a full INWO set. Is it actually real? The font and spacing in the text box look a little off.

Re: Illuminati/INWO- Institute for Advanced Weapon Design
Probably a good time to remember that INWO has been out of print for well over 20 years, so this promo card is that old. My memory suggests the INWO Church of thew Subgenius set from 1998 was the last set released, so the promo would have preceded that since it looks like it is likely from the base set (and less likely but possibly the Assasins set).

Yeah, it does seem like a base set promo. But that's the weird thing - there were 3 "official" base set promos: Pyramid Marketing Schemes, Great Pyramid, and Trading Card Games. Assassins had Convenience Stores and Strange Bedfellows. So I'm not sure where this would fit in; it's not very Sub Genius-y. Very weird. I guess I'd expect no less from INWO.

Mystery solved! It looks like IfAWD and others are homebrew cards posted here: MOD NOTE - Do not link to pages that violate our IP. Thanks.
I think someone is printing these out on stickers and slapping them on blanks and making a nice profit on eBay. |

Is there some type of chemical I can find on original printed cards(non-blank) and run a swab test for that chemical on questionable cards to verify authenticity? ^_^ FFFFF |
