Your Favorite Battlefield...?
When you play a game of Ogre/GEV…
And, as a slightly less important sidebar…
The world can always use a few more crater-blasted wastelands. |

I expect the dominance of the GEV (G1) map to disappear with 6e as the other 3 battlefield maps take more of a pounding. Quote:

Re: Your Favorite Battlefield...?
A few future maps I would like to see. Preferably in expansions, compatible with 6e.
The remaining GEV, Shockwave, & Battlefield maps. An alternate Ogre map with different crater & ridge positions. An intermediate Ogre-GEV map. A GEV-style map with a lot of water (Islands preferably, though drowned city would be nice too) this would be good to have with shallow water rules*). A large urban complex map (say the battle for Sheffield). A map with mountain terrain. *Like swamp but with no defense bonus. Easier for light tracked to travel.

Re: Your Favorite Battlefield...?
I very much like the idea for a transition map. It would be nice to be able to tie the Ogre map to any of the others.
I'd also like to see an Urban map: A huge, sprawling CITY, man. A map with almost nothing but Town, Road, and Railroad hexes. Maybe some water (a river, for example), and a few patches of natural terrain here and there (and all around the edges of the city of course, so it can link with other maps). |

Unfortunately, the 35" dimension doesn't quite match the GEV or Shockwave maps, nor is the 22" quite half of a long edge, so joining the Ogre map to something else would be somewhat difficult. I think a suburban - urban sprawl filling most of the center of a GEV-sized map would be pretty cool. A small city (pop <100k) takes up a lot of space at 1 mile per hex, easily 5 hexes across. Something like Detroit (pop 500k to 1M) can be closer to 10 hexes across. And then you look at something like Washington - Philly - New York - Boston or Los Angeles... |
