Halfling Initial Roll and Flask of Glue
Okay, so I don't know why Munchkin always has to end in everyone yelling and throwing things around the house... but last night immediately before the game table was broken and my brother had to get stitches we had this dilemma:
I was playing for the last level to win against a Plutonium dragon as a Halfling with a Hireling. I was loosing against he Plutonium dragon and decided it would be best to attempt an escape. So I rolled the die and didn't escape. As the Halfling, I discarded a card and attempted escape again but didn't succeed. So I discarded my Hireling for an automatic escape. This is when my brother (idiot) played a Flask of Glue. Now, I have to roll again for my escape. I roll and fail. Can I discard another card and use the Halfling's ability to re-roll once more? In other words, after a flask of glue is played is it my initial roll again? |

Re: Halfling Initial Roll and Flask of Glue
After Flask of Glue is played, the Halfling may use its ability on the new roll, because it's an entirely new Run Away attempt, not a continuation of the previous one.
However, you were also wrong, because you can't ditch a Hireling for an automatic escape after you've already failed the roll. Notice that the Munchkin 4 rules (PDF link) say "instead of rolling to Run Away" (emphasis added). My final ruling: y'all should go halfsies on replacing the table.
