Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
I've decided to use Magic Ritual (Tread Necromancy) to summon this game out of the netherworld...
TL2 All Attributes above average, status, Reputation as B-A warrior, pirate hunter and Muslim. He gained a huge reputation as a Murderous Barbarian/Heroic Defender (depending on who was telling the tale) in his most famous fight, and one as a Martyr a few years after. Relevant Skills: Boating (small paddled), Leadership, Short sword, Spear, Swimming, Tactics, Wrestling.

TL2 Muslim? Seems unlikely.

The early muslims can be considered TL2.
TL2 muslim pirate hunter AND martyr? Thats the odd part. You usually don't see those two together, and I don't think early muslims didn't hunt pirates |

Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
It's not that odd; it seems likely that an early Muslim martyr died fighting, a constant risk for a pirate hunter.
That said, I can't think of an answer.

Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
Ahh... but when you die fighting pirates you don't become a martyr, unless these are very unusually and politically (or religiously important pirates).

Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
Just because you hunt pirates, doesn't mean they are the ones that killed you... I'll throw out that I was hesitant to call him TL2 - I was thinking TL1.5, but closer to 2 than 1. His famous battle was won against an empire double his TL. If there isn't a guess in a reasonable time, I'll throw out a gimmie.

Re: Game: Guess the (historical) character!
Okay, the Gimmie clue: his most famous battle (not the one he died in) was against a foreign power of double his TL, in that battle he added an asterisk to one of the most famous explorers in history:
* Didn't actually make it 100% around the world, due to being decapitated by Character.
