How to use The Dungeon Casino?

Couldn't find this anywhere else in the forum so I figured I'd go ahead and ask a couple questions my friends and i had about how the dungeon casino card should be used.

The first question I think is fairly self explanatory but a couple of my friends disagree. The card says it is usable only once but it also says to discard itemS, with an S to roll the die. I took this to mean that on one occasion you can discard as many 500 gold piece items that you have and want to discard to roll the dice that many times. My friends insist you can only discard one item and roll once. Which way is it?

Also is the casino open to all players or just the player that played the card?

and Finally, this one should probably go without saying, but i have a particularly argumentative group of friends. The card reads, discard items worth 500 gold pieces. Was the intent to be at least 500 gold pieces or only items worth exactly 500 gold pieces?

Based on that wording, I'd assume that you are to discard one item, OR multiple items, with a TOTAL value of at least 500 GP. Then you roll the die. So I think you and your friends are both wrong. I think you can discard multiple items to reach a 500 GP total, but you only get to roll once.

It doesn't say "for every 500 gold pieces worth of items, roll a die", so you can only discard and roll for The Dungeon Casino one time before discarding it. Usable only once means you can use it one time and then it is discarded (unless you have a special ability granted by another card that lets you retrieve it from the discards and use it again - like Second Chance Sparkles from Fairy Dust). Likewise, it also does not say "usable only once per turn" indicating again a one-time use.
I'm looking at The Dungeon Casino right now and I don't know what to tell you about the price to pay for the roll. I've been playing it like levels, if you pay more than the required price, you don't get change but you also don't get anything extra or a penalty.
As a rule though, it is explicitly recommended in the rules to settle arguments loudly and with the owner being in the right in the end.

thanks both of you and yeah wingman that's how it usually goes down when that card gets played and people often flip flop which side they're on based on who played the card, them or someone else...

Discard an Item or Item with a total value of at least 500 Gold Pieces and roll the die once. This is not a case where you may discard as many 500 Gold Piece increments as you can and roll the dice that many times. The card (and it's effect) may be used once.

Unless a card says otherwise, it only provides instructions for the person who played it, or whom the card affects it if affects someone other than the person who played it.

As I said above, you have to discard an Item or Items with a total value of at least 500 Gold Pieces.
