Selling items from hand

Am I correct in reading that in MQ, you can't sell items that are in your hand, only ones that are "In Play? I'm refering to Page 3, In the managing your cards section under "Your Hand". Seems to be one of the differences between Munchkin and MQ and wanted to verify. Thanks.

I see the note that you do, and agree that the use of "can not be sold" there is a little confusing. On the same page, are the following two items:

"Unless specified otherwise, you may discard any type of card, either from your hand or in play."

Perhaps "can not be sold" means you can't trade cards in your hand for gold with another player. The verb used for exchanging items for levels is "discarding".

That's my take. Perhaps someone official will weigh in.

Found an old thread -- some confusion on the issue, but an official-looking answer at the end.

The thread that Bookman linked to was answered by one of the developers who was involved in the Munchkin Quest development. Rather than have you hunt for the end of the thread, I'll include a link to the all important final answer right here.
