I played Torg a few times over the years. Since WEG is apparently not going to do anything to revive it, I was wondering if anyone is planning to run a Torg-like game using GURPS?

Running a Torg stlye game in GURPS is very easy, it really is made for such a game. It would more than likely be best to start off with Infinite World's book and just reverse the Traveling. ( Instead of "Your players traveling to other Worlds. The Worlds travel to them.") Factor in the Invasion of the player home world and you are running a Torg "Style" Game.

I never played the game but loved the setting.
Got hooked by reading that three novel trilogy that sets the scene. just loved the idea of a red bearded , viking-looking Catholic Priiest being one of the heroes. That was unexpectedly COOL!! Also loved the couch potato in the first book walking out of his house and gradually turning back into a caveman. Eerily reminded me of my Dad. - E.W. Charlton

Personally I find the mechanics of TORG so integral to the setting that I wouldn't want to run it in anything else.
You do know they came out with a revised rulebook about a year ago, right? Unfortunately, they're only selling it through www.westendgames.com at the moment. |

You can't play Torg without having Riff, Bun Bun, Zoe, and the rest in tow...
www.sluggy.com/ Is it not nifty? |

I think it would be critical to convert the action deck over to make the game play with the right "feel". Plus, you would want to use the cinemtatic rules of GURPS. In Torg, it was nothing for a single hero to take on hordes of faceless minions and take them out with a quick burst from their (unlimited ammo) SMG. That said, Torg is very very high on my list of preferred RPG systems. George |

I've never played TORG but I have most of the World books and have used them for alternate earths game using GURPS. I used the Horatio Club as my setting.
