The inaugural event at the FCLife Autoduel Center in beautiful London, Ontario (right, who's that laughing?) will be an Amateur Night, broadcast live over the VASSAL network. Vehicles will be provided by the arena. The ruleset used will be the small-box 4th edition, aka "Classic" Car Wars. Not an amateur? Then lie while signing up!
OK, I'm looking at the third weekend of January (19th or 20th) for this, starting maybe 1:00 pm Eastern Stardard Time. I hope this gives everyone time to get over the holiday season and the post-party depression. I would like to know who's interested and which day (or even time) is good for you so I can pin things down. Oh yeah, the arena has six entry gates, so six players tops. One more thing; the arena surroundings are still "under construction," but the arena proper will not change significantly from what I've got in the current PDF. The gate numbers painted on the floor will be moved around a bit (#1 bottom right, running counter clockwise to #6, bottom left), and a few lines painted on the floor for other events. Watch this space for the final VASSAL mod extension file you'll need. So, any takers? |

I would be able to make it if the time was different..
Thats the worst thing... My best times for me are any time after 2230 EST to 1030EST or on that day particular around 1100EST. Reason being, that weekend I will be working my shift work again, and at 1300EST It will be 1430 my time.. I will be sound asleep I am afraid :( |

Well, as a separate game, howzabout you & I (and any other duellists wanting to jump in) make an appointment for the 20th, 0130 your time (midnight EST, I think). And while I'm at it, I think I had better pin down the first game for 2008 (2058? Happy new year!) January 19, 1300EST. |

This is turning into some kind of bizzare bidding war...
OK, Jolly says he's good for 2300EST. I'm amenable to that. Ehos? That time good for you? Hmm, a couple weeks to scare up another player. We might be able to send this one to M. P. Owen's WADA. |

NEW! Updated version of FLAC.mdx at http://members.aol.com/sneakerwave/FLAC.mdx. Get it and put it in your "CW 1.0_Ext" folder. This has the new markings for the arena floor, a little bit more border space (thanks for the advice, Jolly!) and notes on the arena in the "Help" menu (including the Amateur Night cars to be used, and a couple house rules).
And just so you know what you're getting into, points are scored by a system suspiciously similar to the Prestige point system. Also, there will be a "checkpoint" placed at the halfway point in each chute. Only the first car to touch a checkpoint gets to count it. The driver at the end of the event (less than two cars in the fight) with the most checkpoints tagged gets 2 points. Two weeks left to sign up. Join early, join often! |
