You could ask just any MIB, yes, and he could give you an answer, but his authority to give an answer to an, as yet, officially unanswered question would be suspect.

But, if you ask me, and you should be asking me, I can give an official answer with authority without suspicion.

So, if you want my gut opinion: The ability to make a Level 5 or lower Monster a Pet is an Epic feat of Human nature. I also feel that keeping that pet requires some level of humanity and an Epic quality as well. I.e., I would say that an Epic Human's pet would be lost if that character lost his Epicness or his humanity.

I have passed this one on up, however, as I would say that I have heard arguments (though none compelling enough to make me change my mind), that make me wonder and consider the other possibility worthy of discussing with higher powers.

That's why I originally deferred straight to you Munchkin Man :)

I feel so honored that my question is "worthy of discussing with higher powers" ;) My initial thought was that the pet would be treated as a sort of 'usuable only by Epic Humans' meaning it would be unequipped until one reached epic lvl again and was a human. But as I continued to think I decided it's probably not so. if it takes an epic human to create a pet out of a monster then it should require an epic human to keep that monster pet tame. anyone other than an epic human wouldnt be able to control this pet, and hence I now believe it should be lost when either epic status is lost or when the character is no longer a human.

it'll be interesting to see what the higher ups say.

Yes, I agree. Similarly an Epic Werewolf would loose any Enhancers he's played on himself should he fall below lvl10.

*reactivating this thread for a new question regarding this topic*

1) Can a classless character out of SM/Impossible/Bites/Fu/Cthulhu/Star (not basic Munchkin game) also be considered as human?

2) Can such a classless character that is epic be considered as epic human and so gain the epic human feat?

First of all: Star Munchkin comes with races.
As the rules say: You are a raceless, classless,... human at level 1 when you begin to play. As long as you don't have a race you stay human, even if the deck features no race. Classes or loyalities or... are not relevant for this.

I would think that to be able to be considered human, you must be playing with a set that has races in it. Otherwise, you should be able to see the epic human feat listed under all the game headings. Then again, there is always the chance I am reading too much into that.
