Silver Anniversary? 25 years of GCA

Hmm. I just realized this morning that earlier this year was the silver anniversary of GCA's original release. I don't seem to have accessible records any more of the exact date, but it was early 1995.

I released the first version on CompuServe for free. I wanted to release newer versions as shareware, so on March 27, 1995 I wrote my first letter to Steve Jackson Games requesting to become a licensee.

I've spent a long time working on GCA and I still enjoy doing so. It's grown a lot over the years. I really hope I can get the next version sanded off a bit so you guys can play with that one, too.

Man 25 years that is a great run for software. I remember printing out characters with it on my dot matrix printer.

I remember helping a friend get plain text output of the characters so he could load them on a floppy disk and then print them on his electronic typewriter.

I recently came across this little gem in a box of stuff. Put it with the rest of my GURPS collection.

Huzzah! I barely remember a time of GURPS without GCA, and it's made me a loooooot of characters since then.

Though, now I feel old :)
