Pretty sure the joint effort would go well beyond just glassing Earth there.
Yep. Once they killed all of the Draka (and I mean all of them...), then they'd need to hunt down and obliterate whatever mad deity would twist reality enough to allow the Draka to not only prevail, but to actually exist, at all.

Stirling had to disregard some basic realities about human behavior for the Draka to be anything other than a particularly bizarre and grotesque failure. I'd say the idea that they could win only if the laws of the uinverse required it, is pretty close to accurate.

That doesn't make for a good game, though. Kill them all, and then hunt down the mad god who made them possible -- that could be a good campaign.

Hey, if the end goal is to find the Plotanium blade that can kill a god, then decide if you prefer deicide or taking the throne for yourself, then it becomes interesting.

Quite a few discussions over on Alternatehistory.com website on the issue came to conclusion that once the Draka encountered someone that was not infected with the "stupid virus" they were in for a world of hurt.

The best way to deal with the Draka is from the fanfiction "Proof through the night" which details the USA under FDR doing a preemptive "Big One" strike against the Draka in 1945.

It is Kiss of the Enemy by Ken but when you think about it Gwen would be ecstatic if she had learned about the Moon Kingdom (rule one planet? Heck they effectively ruled the entire flipping solar system) and Crystal Tokyo.

"Draka" is the name of the series while Drakon is the closest they have gotten to cross reality travel and that was an accident. Gwendolyn Ingolfson (the Drakon of the novel) was able to contact the Draka reality but they "just barely" fought off an invasion by the United States of Samothrace.

The framing device of the collection is set a few years after Drakon where the person who stopped Gwen has created a company that reverse engineers the tech Gwen knew about to fight off the Draka...if they show up.

An interesting variation would be a Draka type timeline where everyone was infected by a stupidity virus accept for the Draka. What would Centrum or Infinity do if their agents contracted the stupidity virus and it started to spread through other timelines? What would be the effects of the stupidity virus?

With some realities you couldn't tell the difference. :-)

This this idea does raise an important question - how do Centrum and Infinity keep from infecting other realities or their agents from being disease carriers?

Remember there are some really nasty diseases in the canonal worlds with Gotha being one of the real nasty ones.

In fact, one of the working theories is one of the worlds invented parachronics and either directly infected the others or was a carrier for the Gotha disease.

Heck, you don't need an exotic disease to have issues. Smallpox, Plagues and Peoples (1976) by McNeill. For the TLDR crowd a disease that kills most of those it infects quickly isn't well evolved. Eventually the disease will evolve to where the infected live for years allowing them to carry the disease to new hosts.

On a side note this is what makes AIDS so weird; it didn't behave as one would expect for a disease invading a "virgin" population.

In my Infinite Cabal campaign, Infinity and Centrum have made peace and opened diplomatic relations. Both would be very un-keen on the Draka, from what I've read about them (which doesn't motivate me to read more). Reich-5's SS would be keen to exploit the Draka as patsies and a source of troops, but would not regard them as equals.

I was forced to conclude for Infinite Cabal that pathogens that have not infected anyone don't usually survive inter-world transit. Infinity in the setting knows about this, but doesn't have an explanation for it; the PCs don't know if Centrum knows why this happens.

Infinite Worlds page 51:
Quote:
Centran medicine is basically TL8, with TL9 treatments against contagious diseases thanks to decades of experience against wild bioweapons. Centrans who travel to other worlds get panimmunity treatments (Resistant to Disease +8) as a matter of routine.
Infinite Worlds page 177:
Quote:
Infinity and Centrum have genetically engineered therapies that confer Resistant to Disease +8 on their agents. Centrum injects all its agents with its Aesculapius Factor (a genetically engineered antibody complex); Infinity restricts use of polymaxin (a quasi-symbiotic “kamikaze” retrovirus) to those on lengthy outtime deployments and to Miracle Workers on plague duty, since its long-term health effects are unknown.
