Default Sandals of Protection

I was wearing the Sandals of protection; when kicking the door in I received a curse. When wearing the sandals you're protected from curses, being said, does the curse get discarded or may it be kept for later use? Neither cards said it must be discarded, and I was within my holding card maximum.

If you're kicking down the door, the normal situation when you find a Curse is that the Curse gets applied and discarded (unless it's persistent, like Curse! Chicken On Your Head, in which case the card remains on the table as a reminder). Regardless, when a Curse is canceled, it gets discarded (i.e., using a Wishing Ring doesn't mean the Curse goes into your hand). In this particular case, the Sandals of Protection mean that the Curse has its effects canceled, so nothing happens to the person kicking down the door, and the Curse would get discarded as any canceled curse.

Also, for cards that you can pick up, remember that the "maximum number of cards in your hand" limit is only at the END of your turn, in the Charity phase...until then, your are not limited at all.
