Default Suggestion: GURPS-blogs sub-forum

Given that blogs are so important to the GURPSperience and that there are so many of them out there, how about giving them their own sub-forum under the GURPS forum? They are becoming so numerous they obscure the normal discussion a little.

That's a good thought. Then I can more easily ignore them.

(I really don't appreciate "Look at my blog!" posts. A link in the signature is all it needs.)

Exception: Dr. Kromm's thread full of blog posts works for me, but then Dr. Kromm is special in lots of way.

Good idea. It would be easy to subscribe to the threads for the blogs that take your taste.

There doesn't seem to be that many "blogs" threads:

There are more, there's one I can think of right away that isn't in this list.

Quite a few were missing the "blogs" tag. I worked back two months adding it to blog threads that lacked it.

Douglas Cole lists all the GURPSblogs. They're up to 15 blogs, which I think is a respectable number. Then there are blogs that are not dedicated wholly or mostly to GURPS.

That isn't a list of all the GURPS blogs. That's a list of all the GURPS blogs that posted GURPS-marked content (which they bothered to tag) in the last week.

Or you can not click through the thread to look at the post. Lots of folks actually come from those threads.

As an analogy, I ignore Monster Hunters threads since I don't own the series and don't watch the movies that inspired it, but I don't think it should be shoved off in its own forum since I don't read them. I don't read b-dog's threads that are requests for someone else to write an esoteric Dungeon Fantasy supplement that only he thinks needs to be a 32-page PDF instead of a Pyramid article, but I don't think they should be in their own forum. It's like folks who don't want to listen to Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh or Barry Manilow. You can always change the channel.

Kromm's thread isn't in the GURPS forum.

Put me down for being against the subforum. If you want to ignore a blog-related thread, don't read it. And if you want to read it, you have to check a second forum.

There are at least 63 blogs, and I'm aware of at least one or two more that have not contacted me to put them on the list.
