Default Ask Questions For GURPS After The End (and more) Q&A With PK (#SJGamesLive)

On Tuesday, May 24th, 4PM CST, we'll be holding an #SJGamesLive with PK Levine, answering your questions about GURPS After the End.

Submit your questions here, and we'll be selecting the best ones to answer live on air. We'll also have prizes during the live stream! Our focus will be answering questions about GURPS After the End -- including existing works, future supplements, Pyramid articles, and general questions about "worked-genre" series like this -- though once those are answered, we may have some time to talk about GURPS in general, the Monster Hunters line, and other things.

What platform will the live stream be on? Any idea about time of day (and timezone)?

Added the time and time zone. It will most likely be on a Youtube hangout.

24th, not 26th. Fixed. Hopefully we'll eventually get this fixed and accurate enough that people are able to ask questions that aren't errata for the OP. :)

Here's your first then (I'm a helper today)!

What should the presumed TL be for a 'bog standard' ATE game? And what do you mean by "For economic purposes" when discussing TL4?

Maybe just a quick few words about TL and how you've been handling it for your game. Skills, Skill Check Penalties, Repair of Gear, Costs, Frequency of Advanced TL Gear Found, etc?

If you could wave a magic wand, what creative support from the exterior writing base would you like to see? Adventures? Characters? More gear? Worked examples of disasters?

I'm sorry. I was just making sure.

So I have a few questions:
  • Tell my why you choose to leave the supernatural out of ATE1 an ATE2 if you will.
  • Lots of people are buzzing about your gadgeteering rules. How did you arrive at them? What makes them different/better/worse than the basic set's rules?
  • Mutation is interesting, where did the idea for Freakishness come from?
  • What was the reasoning behind choosing the apocalypse of generations before instead of apocalypse now/right now/recently?
  • Your rules for Radiation and Long-Term Fatigue are brilliant simplifications with mechanics that could easily be ported elsewhere - where else would you port them?
I'll echo Doug's question. What sort of support do you want to see?

(That was hellish - took me almost 20 minutes to type that out. Stupid keyboard.)

Kromm made a classic post on everyman skills. Skills every character should have. How would you amend this list for an AtE campaign?

Also, some settings would incorporate cyborgs into the setting - like Furiosa's arm in Mad Max Fury Road. Any thoughts on how to treat them? Would the Freakishness mechanism be a good fit for street cyborg wear as well?

If you used a magic system for AtE, how would you decide which one to use?

Why are there no stats for flame-throwing guitars?

If you were to rewrite Monster Hunters today, with what you've learned since then - would you change anything and what?
