Greetings, folks!

I have returned from the joyful chaos of Gamex 2017, bringing tidings of games well-played and much Xenomorph carnage.

The "Rescue or Bug Hunt?" adventure was an absolute delight to GM, and all the players seemed to have a blast. In today's post I talk a bit about running it at the table, and also provide a download link for the 58-page PDF of the adventure (GM notes, simple screen, six PC pre-gens, player handouts, figures and ID signs, weapon tracking notecards, the works).

Finally, I discuss all the things I learned and/or relearned by GMing this weekend... hopefully some of these lessons will jog your own GM memories.

Any suggestions for the game? I'd love to hear ideas on making it even better!

That's a very nice package you put together. Thanks!

Thanks, GM Joe. I may be hitting the organizational event horizon... I'm starting to get a few looks from players like, "Dude, you know this is just a four-hour game, right?" :)

Regardless, I salute you. That's hardcore scenario planning / preparation, and I think that material would be great support for a GM. Thanks for providing.

I agree; your campaign pack is very impressive.

Would you consider making a post on the technical side of assembling a campaign pack? Do you have templates you use to create the folding character minis? How do you generate the HP/FP/ammo checkoff boxes?

I love this! I ran your first Bunnies game at a con last year and every one was impressed by your hand outs. I'll be adding this to my convention library.

Greetings, folks!

Even I occasionally step out of my usual "150-250 point characters" GURPS comfort zone. Today's post has a few brief suggestions on keeping high-point characters and campaigns fun without imploding under the weight of their own awesomeness.

I find GURPS to be one of the few systems that can not only accommodate the spectrum of play styles, but also PCs from "50-point village guard" to "1,000-point demigod of butter" without the system falling apart.

In other words: Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk as a PC party is entirely doable.

How have your own high-point games gone?

Ah! Sorry for the delay in replying, I somehow missed this thread updating until just today.

philosophyguy, that's an excellent suggestion for a future blog post, let me get on it. Thanks!

Nice to hear, AOTA! I hope the actual game was fun as well. :)

That'd be another great topic for a post: how to handle a group with widely varying power levels, like the Avengers group from the first movie.
