MotorGun video game kickstarter
Yo, SJG isn't mentioned, I don't know if they are working on this...
http://www.gamespot.com/news/god-of-...studio-6408443 But, the return of Autoduel would rock. I'd prefer a single player experience though. |

Re: Autoduel video game kickstarter
Hmm that is an interesting choice for a name.
A car combat MMORPG, hope it works out better than AutoAssault did. |

Re: Autoduel video game kickstarter
I didn't see any mention of it being related to the original Autoduel, and the description of the three factions sure doesn't sound like it takes place in the official Car Wars universe.
I had thought Autoduel was a SJG trademark, but the USPTO shows it 'dead' as of 2005, with 'Big Boat Interactive' having registered it in February of this year. That's unfortunate. Last edited by Mattaui; 05-16-2013 at 11:56 AM. Reason: USPTO search information |

Re: Autoduel video game kickstarter
More details on Autoduel are on the official Pixelbionic Web site.
Pixelbionic http://pixelbionic.com Does anyone remember the canceled PC game Loose Cannon from the now-defunct Digital Anvil? The game was clearly inspired by the 1985 Autoduel CRPG. The few preview images published were great. The Polygon blog briefly discusses Autoduel IP. Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe returns to car combat with Autoduel http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/16/433...-with-autoduel Polygon May 16, 2013 I have a feeling the legal issues of this subject may become ugly in a short time, therefore I recommend discusson on this topic on this forum should be ended.

Re: Autoduel video game kickstarter
I have to admit I've been hoping someone would develop a PVP-style Car Wars game, especially given that we now have games like Mechwarrior Online... but it's a bummer that the "Autoduel" trademark is now in question.

Re: Autoduel video game kickstarter
SJ Games still owns the rights to the term "Autoduel." These guys are going to have to either pay Steve a lot of money or change the name.
