Default ...And it's little friends

H'okay, so, this card starts like a Wandering Monster. You play it with a monster from your hand to join in on a battle. Everyone else around the table can then dogpile on more monsters provided they are of lower level than 'the original monster'. Is that the monster from the initial battle or the monster being played with "And it's little friends" that I'm playing out of my hand?

"Now I'm where a snail has to be."

While not fully clear from the card's text, it has been clarified in official posts.

The original monster is one of those in the battle when . . . And Its Little Friends is played. All the monsters, including the one played with AILF, must be lower-Level than the original monster.
