Hi. I love Star Munchkin and recently purchased the clown wars expansion.
I understand when rooms can be played and they must be resolved first, etc. However, the only room that seems to have a definitive description on what to do with it is the "Cantina." What am I supposed to do with the other room cards? Are they similar to "curse" cards from original munchkin? thanks. |

They are kind of like curses, but offer more chances for other players to affect it.

Glancing over some of them... Yes, Cantina is easy to understand.
Otherwise, they are kinda like a curse in the sense that if you kicked down a door it could be a curse (traps and curses are the same thing of course), or someone could play a curse on you. Basically, if you kick down a door to find a Room card, the effects of the room apply, and there is only combat (unless epic) if someone (including yourself) wanders a monster into that room. So basically, if you kick down a room, it's like a curse, and someone can wander a monster into the room, or if you encounter a monster someone can play a Room card on you to make you in that room, with whatever monster you found. Of course some of the Room cards don't work with combat, to which they are quite like curses when such. |

I guess the key issue for me is that you say you know how to play Rooms, but that only one has clear instructions. They all seem fairly clear to me, including things like Outside (paraphrased), "Lose a Level and discard any Monsters," so maybe we have to accept that you don't know how to play Rooms, or are missing something important about them to continue
So, if you open a Door at the beginning of your turn, and you find a room, it applies to you. If you get a Room face down, you can play it on any player after they've just opened a Door and haven't already found a Room. in that way, it's like a Curse, but it's limited to when it can be played from the hand. The rules for Rooms state that anyone can use a Wandering Monster card to bring a Monster to the Room. Yes, of course, Outside is "incompatible" with combat because it ends it immediately, so Wandering Monster doesn't quite work there, but you get the point. I don't know if this covers your issues completely, but if you can give a better example as to what you are not understanding, or why the other Rooms seem unclear, that would be great.
