Hello! My friend, I was rather wondering about a roll to make the right decisions for camping inside of the cave. Would a survival roll provide the extra insight to avoid being trapped with/by monsters?

Yes.
I believe one benefit you could choose is having clear lines of sight to potential approaches (+1 to rolls in quick contests to spot ambushes).
