Default CoC: Horror on the Orient Express (old version)

I'm pondering running Horror on the Orient Express as a nostalgia campaign (we played a lot of CoC in college). Anyone run it or in it?

If so, any tips for the Keeper?

Anyone have preferences for CoC 3rd v. CoC 5th? (We own both, no sense buying the most recent one just for the old stuff.)

I own 4th, 5.6ed and 7th edition of CoC. If I started a campaign today I would go woth 5th for an old adventure or 7th for a new one. 7th has some new mechanics that are nice but all editions are very similar in feel.

There's very little difference between CoC versions 1-6 – some minor details change, and I'd probably use 5 over 3 just because it's slightly better organised. CoC makes more significant changes (e.g. rescaling stats) but it's still very much a recognisable game.

As for the adventure, I think the, hmm, are your potential players reading this? There'a bit of the plot that I believe needs very careful handling.

Unlikely, but don't want to spoil for other possible players. Can you hint by section of the adventure.

Istanbul - the bit that's quite railroady, as well as devaluing some of what's already happened. I haven't run this, but if I did I'd like to restore some player agency.
