This is Norwood's first assignment on Earth - and it's pretty much everything that the other imps serving Lust whispered that it would be. There's plenty of food to eat, plenty of drink to guzzle down, plenty of humans to use up... in other words, there's plenty of things. And if the imp is smart, he knows that he can play with those things for a long, long time to come. He just has to keep out of the way of both the angels and his own bosses. Both of those groups think of him and his as things, too, only for different reasons. Norwood's major goal in life is to get himself in a position where he can look down at the same place from where he's now looking up; only he'll make sure that he won't let others get away with what he's getting away now. If Norwood is not as evil as other Hellspawn, it is merely because he does not yet have the power to express that evil properly. At the moment, he's simply unpleasantly callous and calculating, but he has every intention of developing those qualities into properly manipulative behavior just as soon as he's able. Norwood knows that he'll either be a Balseraph or an Impudite some day. It'll all come down to what he likes better; breaking humans to his will, or taking what they most want. Either seems to be fun. Both seem to give him opportunities to grow. Still, at this stage Norwood is not a very consequential imp - even he knows that he's weak and puny. That's probably what makes him potentially dangerous; very few demonlings at his level have even an elementary inclination towards proper self-assessment, which is no doubt why he has actually been given the somewhat unusual boon of a functioning vessel. Of course, he is only now starting to realize that being given preferential treatment of this sort can also be a subtle attack; a lesson that he is taking to heart, and looks forward to passing along some day... Norwood is built as per suggested beginning character points for a celestial spirit in GURPS In Nomine. Last edited by Moe Lane; 08-10-2008 at 08:39 PM. Reason: Adding link |

Re: Norwood [Imp (serving Lust)] (GURPS In Nomine)
Why would a Celestial, particularly a demon, take a vessel so much WEAKER then humans, much less the other Celestials which are his natural competition?
I understand the story idea, but when one's spent one days being waffle stomped by Calabim for a few dozen years, an appreciation for a more "robust" vessel is kind of dug in. |

Re: Norwood [Imp (serving Lust)] (GURPS In Nomine)
Because he didn't have the points. Even a weak vessel is better than most of his peers are doing, and he's working for Lust, so he can't cut too many physical corners there.
