Default Wight Blades

Less than a dozen Wight Blades have been written about, but the secret to the binding is a lost art.

Whenever a Wight Blade is readied the user must make a save vs IQ or go into a blind berserk, killing those nearest to them until another save at the same level is made to drop the blade. If the blade is broken the Wight is released to follow its own agenda, but it is immune to Drop and Break weapon effects.

The difficulty of the save depends on the skill of the user in using that form of weapon. (Most are swords, but there is at least one each of dagger, axe and halberd.) This is a 2/IQ save for a weapons master, a 3/IQ save for a weapons expert, a 4/IQ save if the user has the talent for the weapon form, and a 5/IQ save if untalented.

Once readied the weapon will appear to glow with an unnatural light and add damage as if it were a flaming weapon against anything other than totally inanimate objects. This effect also grants the wielder immunity against Sleep, Freeze and Rope.
