We made a deal with a partner in the EU to ship within the EU. And no, the stretch goals for reduced shipping do not apply to those who didn't Kickstart the project. The shipping savings are for the project backers.

Wait, does this mean that someone who didn't back during the Kickstarter could get in with the Backerkit?

Yes. Pre-orders are open through BackerKit right now.

There's a cart on the backerkit page get them to to backerkit and add something . That will tell them if it's possible and how much it costs.

The other option if you know them ofcourse is to buy an extra box set for them. If I'd done that the postage and handling was $15, but it would have gone to me and then I'd need to get it to them.

I'm paying a similar amount. The shipping discount from KS only covered the first box for me, I had payed for an extra box that turned out to be prohibitively expensive to ship. So just the one boxed set for me now.

In other words the shipping savings are only applied once per backer not once per box, something I didn't realize at the time.

Have you looked at a mail/freight forwarding service Þorkell?

Two of the three countries I mentioned in my OP in that other thread are in the EEA, which is a economic/customs/etc. deal with the EU where there are no barriers to trade within that area. I think your EU partner is either making a mistake or trying to rip off Norwegians and Icelanders.

Also why does the shipping come to $70 for the box set when the page clearly says Rest of World $50?

Further, I don't see how the heck it can cost $15 to ship something to Australia and $50 to send it here.

Because of the more serpentine path, I do caution AGAINST laser jet printers. Especially for the thicker end of the spectrum. I had a samsung clip 300(?) That did pretty well with medium card stock.

I have an HP laserjet pro 452dn. It works great with my printed miniatures on card-stock. But yeah, you have to check how your particular laser deals with card-stock, because some of them hate it.

Having legal or customs barriers probably isn't the problem. The fact that Iceland is an island geographically separated from the rest of Europe is likely what's sending the shipping rate up.
