Re: Resident Evil Template
Is the Wounded Disadvantage the only way to represent a "weak spot" on a creature?

Re: Resident Evil Template
Might be able to use Vulnerability with some mods on it. Alternatively, use Extra HP, DR, IT (DR) with a minor accessability-ish limitation. Otherwise, I'm not entirely certain.
Personally, if PC isn't playing it, I'd not bother statting it beyond the penalty on the targeted attack and any damage requirements/limitations on the weak spot. I.e. a Regenerator has five weak spots that are only visible wtih thermal imaging. Destroying these points will prevent it from regenerating anymore. So give the weak spots X HP and a -Y hit location penalty. And you can only target them specifically if you can see IR.

Re: Resident Evil Template
I'm not talking about REINO monsters, but something else that has heavy natural armor, but a weak spot where damage is multiplied, or perhaps just normal.

Re: Resident Evil Template
To make them more dangerous I suggest to give the Zombies an Habit rewarding the last moments of their 'alive' life: something like a cop zombie that stays pointing the gun somewhere (even if he have not a gun), or a slut zombie waiting for the client, etc... It won't be so easy to say:'that is a zombie!' and they will disguise someone... just to reveal the surprise afterward.

Re: Resident Evil Template
After putting the templates to paper, I've been trying to stat the herbs, pills from the "Outbreak" games. The Easiest is the First Aid Spray- if you have Ultra Tech. Also the "supervisors" from RE3 would be a good template to have. OK' for Green Herb I used the healing rates under the Minor Healing- I know that's a spell but I reasoned it would do for a mutated plant. Green/Red mix used Major Healing. Blue cured poison. My notes for the pills aren't on me(Sigh). I planned to use the containment specialist in Biotech as the foundation for a supervisor template with suitable mods. I'm also looking at creating new locations too. some other critters can be useful, Oscar the bull elephant zombie is a good example-like an undead tank!

Another option might be DR with Accessibility (66% of the time, -10%), iirc, would work. Could just roll 1d and on a 1 or 2, it bypasses DR all together by hitting the weak spot.

Re: Resident Evil Template
I'm sorry to raise this thread from its final rest, but I am interested in any progress made on this subject. So, has anything been done? I could really use any and all materials for running a GURPS RE game.
Thank you in advance! |
