Default Combat Help

Say Player A uses the Kneepads to coerce Player B into helping. Player C plays enough modifiers to make the combat unwinnable. Does Player B then have to roll to run away/risk facing Bad Stuff? Or are they safe because it wasn't their combat originally?

Even if the helper wasn't coerced by something like Kneepads of Allure, he must also try to Run Away.
