Re: Does anyone else want more adventures like Master of Amulets?
Ha! I'm exactly the same way -- and before I retired, my job was to fight and win wars! ;-) So you shouldn't feel bad about it, that's for sure. Composing for the official record (or publication) just about paralyzes me and I have a heck of a time meeting deadlines because of it, but I can post here and there or edit someone else's work without any problem. Go figure.

I am glad that I am not the only one who enjoyed that kind of Adventure. To me, it makes it feel more like a video game. Plus, it would allow you to have a different Adventure every time. Another poster said this earlier, but it would also be easy to expand. Imagine if you had one map of the world to explore, but you could keep on adding distinct places on it that would give you a unique encounter.
There is even more room to add complexity to. What if you also had enemy forces moving across the map as well? When you got close to them, you could make a scouting role to see if you were able to figure out what they are. Maybe you just stumbled upon a simple Hunting Party, and could take them out with ease. Or maybe you stumbled upon the bulk of the enemy's Army, and you decide it was wise to retreat. For someone like me who plays solo most of the time, this would be amazing to have. |

Yes, I would.
Also, I wouldn't mind seeing some solos that are convertible to GMd, in the same way Car Wars' Convoy standalone was. |

And hopefully SJG opts to release more counter/map packs that could be leveraged. I’d buy em :) or the map could be displayed on the iPad and you use existing counters :) Worst case, you could print out the maps! I realize some purists may oppose the mixing of digital and analog... Last edited by GlennDoren; 07-27-2018 at 05:44 PM. |

Re: Does anyone else want more adventures like Master of Amulets?
You could have all sorts of fun with map & paragraph games.
"Barbarian King" is a good model, but imagine it with a tile map. You get (say) 24 geomorphic tiles, and randomly deal out a 3 x 4 map. Each tile has a few "places" (not necessarily hexes) with a terrain type (determines time to cross and random encounter table). One of the tiles has a destination space; when you get there you switch to a paragraph adventure.
