Selling before Thief Steal
Player A is a thief and announces he intents to steal AND discards a card to steal.
Player B is the victim and decides to sell the item before the thief rolls. Who has priority here? Thanks. |

Re: Selling before Thief Steal
If the discard hits the table, you have to resolve the action.

Re: Selling before Thief Steal
Presuming it is player B's turn (because you cannot sell when it is not your turn), if player A has discarded a card to "power" the theft ability, he gets to complete that ability before player B has a chance to sell his stuff. Unless your group REALLY likes cut-throat games where split-second timing matters, I think a player who says "I'm going to try to steal" and obviously tosses a card down has completed the discard even if the card hasn't hit the table yet. I would tend to look with disfavor in most friendly* games upon a player who said "I'msellingItemsnow" in that fraction of a second between the theft declaration and the discard hitting the table.
* You know what I mean.
