mitigator for colorblind with exception of red
I am constructing vampires in my game world and I decided that in my world, vampires are colorblind except for red, and have nightvision, similar to many carnivorous species, I'm thinking 20-30%, thoughts?

That's not a Mitigator limitation. The ability to see red as a color suggests that they are dichromatic rather than monochromatic; I would probably call that -50%. The Night Vision needs to be bought separately.

Re: mitigator for colorblind with exception of red
Being a dichromat is significantly different that "grayscale with red" which is what I think is implied here. I imagine this like a movie scene being shot for effect. Only things that are red red have color. A red coat will appear red but if a ginger is wearing it he'd have to dye his hair for a vampire to be able to see it.
Sounds like a perk on top of Colorblindness to me. |

Re: mitigator for colorblind with exception of red
If you still take the skill penalties - which I think you should in this case - it's not much of a limitation. If you don't take the skill penalties, it's -80% at least.
Though Colorblindness is overpriced for an Anti-Talent covering as few skills as it does, so the cost still won't look right after modification.

Thanks! I think I will go with 50% (except red) with 5 levels of nightvision. He still has a problem mixing chemicals and dressing in colors without looking silly. Also color can play a role in identifying magic.
Vampire sight 0 points. Last edited by Libertine; 08-23-2013 at 04:13 PM. Reason: Including final cost. |
