Default Need help with advantage/disadvantage limitation and modifiers

Once again I consult the collective on matters that I have little to no experience with.

I'm trying to design a "vitality pool" for HP for a caster that casts using HP only.

But I do not know how to make it work the way I want it to...

So. What I want to happen, ideally anyway, is to have a Vitality pool that doesn't refill naturally. The only way to refill it is with a leaching attack. Once a leaching attack succeeds and it fills the pool, than that can be used as a "mana bar" so to speak. Then at the end of combat or some 10 minutes or so whichever comes first, it will wear off and deplete back to 0.

And to add a trick to the mix, I would like to have a way to convert that pool to their actual HP if even at an unfavorable ratio.

Buuuuttttt I have no idea on what limitations or modifiers to use to make this possible.....

Buy a Vitality Reserve, and slap Special Recharge on it. Then limit Leech to "only fills ER (aka VR). As for depleting after combat and healing the PC, I'd say it can drain itself into HP/FP at the same 1:3 ratio of Leech.

Any idea what book and what page the numbers would be found in?

I would assume that having leeching limited to only filllling the VR would count as some sort of limitation for it.

Also this might be off topic but would there be a way to use leeching like some sort of follow up for some sort of innate attack? Like I don't know a fireball like spell attack with the leeching effect taken into consideration after damage has been applied?

I am not very familiar with magic and powers etc. I usually run Sci-Fi games

Buy Leech as Ranged with Cosmic Follow-Up (+50%). Again, use the same pricing as Only Fills ER for your Leech to only fill your VR. VR itself is linked in my first post.

Sounds like a plan.

I was thinking about making it like an actual spell. Where it's learned etc.

And having it almost like fireball where you can feed extra effort into it per turn for up to 3 turns like the fireball spell. Then as that follow up, it would fill the reserve at 1/3rd that damage after dr, injury, and all that stuff etc.

I don't know how to go about that..... But I will figure it out eventually.

Building a new spell in Standard Magery is...not simple. The easiest ways to do what you're after are Spells as Powers and Imbuements. Just be careful with what you allow with Imbuements.
