Default Technical Grappling – can someone help me figure it out?

With the ongoing sale, I took the chance to buy Technical Grappling. To make a long story short, I'm lost as to how to use this at all. Can someone please make a simple example of a combat with a couple of wrestlers or a short cheat sheet or flowchart? There doesn't appear to be a clear point of entry.

Have you checked out the stuff on my blog? TG got very dense, very fast, as we were going through it. I did some amplification and explanation on The Grappling Mat.

head here first: https://gamingballistic.com/2013/10/...ppling-basics/

Does Doug have a script checking the forum for "technical grappling "?

Anyways, thanks for the link. I had started to check your blog, but there was quite a bit under that tag.

No, just an army of dedicated, highly trained, linguisitic judoka minions. They have to do something while waiting for another secret agent to infiltrate his volcano lair.

I have Ghostdancer. He's better than a script.

Now that I have some publishing experience of my own under my belt (no link-based advertising in the forums, alas, so self-promotion not allowed), something I'd love to do under my own auspices would be to revise and Technical Grappling with no real regard to wordcount.

As I noted to mhd in another thread, Peter and I worked out several really cool innovations with respect to TG, especially in Dungeon Fantasy games (if you read Peter's blog, you'll see he's used a simplified version of TG in his Felltower DF game for YEARS, to very good effect). I'd love to take the original manuscript, revise it where needed, rewrite it where necessary, and repeat things where useful. So instead of all the tables ONLY in the back, I could put them in the main text where they're easily accessed, AND make a Quick Reference section in the back.

I'd also put worked examples throughout the text, and take that intro I referenced in my blog and put it right the heck up front, so folks know what to do.

I've taken all of that advice on my current "Dungeon Grappling" product for That Other Game.

I'd love to see that simplified version in a Pyramid article. Right now, the biggest issue I'm having is where to begin; a stripped-down version would make that easier. But that Peter uses a simplified version was what made me break down and go for it (well, that and the sale), figuring that it would be easier than using the Basic Set version if/when my players chose to grapple.

Your response came six minutes after my post. I saw it right before I set down my phone to doze off (it was 10 pm, after all); I was too tired and too shocked with the speed of the post to reply right away. If I figure it took a minute to read the message and write the reply, that leaves a mere five minutes for Ghostdancer to spot it and notify you. And he's an hour ahead of us, so he had to be tired.

It seems Ghostdancer himself is work a Perk.
