Pet Raven and Bat-Bat (Bites)

If you have a Pet Raven and kill a bat with the Bat-bat, do you get an extra level even though you did not use the Pet Raven's level bonus in combat?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say no. Bat Bat eliminates a bat from combat as a special ability. If you use that ability then you haven’t used the Raven’s bonus, much like if you used Scroll of Depression.

That's my take on it, too - and it's weird for me to see this question here today, as I ran Bites at a con this past Friday. Do I even have to finish the story by saying that I was the one with Pet Raven and the Bat Bat when this situation came up?
