Default Re: [Lifepath Template] Character building

I've done a little additional work on it, but life has been getting in the way the last couple weeks. I will post some more of what I have in the next day or two.

Dwarf99- I intentionally left that nebulous so as to allow someone the ability to play a younger character with many previous careers, or an older character that hasn't done much. That said, I've made the assumption (for my games) that the "Birth" Template puts a character at 14-16, and every "Profession path" would add 3-5 years. That would put a 150pt character around 17-21 years, and a 250pt character at 23-31 years old. If you were going really high power (500pts), you would probably have to adjust that, just to keep from playing a bunch of geriatric heroes. ;)

I added Tradesman, Constable, and fixed the Merchant (broken Ads).

If you have any suggestions for the existing templates, or would like to contribute a template (one of the ones noted above, or a new one), feel free to post it up.

I'm hoping to compile this into a PDF once it's fleshed out a bit.

My first thought was to have reduced starting templates (50 point versions), and add a "racial lens" to the template. As I think about it though, it may make sense to call these the human starting paths, and create starting paths for each of the other races.

So you could have a Dwarvish Tradesman, Dwarvish Merchant, Elvish woodsman, Elvish plant whisperer (Farmer), Halfling Farmer, etc...

That approach may be more work than it's worth though...

Elvish Plant Whisperer...heh...

Ok, I've added the Monk, Priest, Doctor, Burglar and Cutthroat.

Please let me know if any of the templates are miscalculated, or have a skill/advantage/disadvantage that doesn't makes sense or are missing one that would make sense.

I have been working on a similar concept (off and on). When I get a chance, I'll post some lens for consideration.
