Re: GURPS News Observations
I’m still hoping it might be the long-back-burnered GURPS Girl Genius, which would be large, sprawling, intricate, high-profile, and involved with existing art resources, much as was Mars Attacks....

Re: GURPS News Observations
I'm guessing it is the unknown 4th edition conversion item in the speculation thread.

For any newbies (and some non-newbies): Is this just a funny name that people laughed about? Or is there some story worth telling here? (Probably should be in its own thread: "GURPS Forum in-jokes explained" : )

I vaguely remember it being the tongue in cheek term for what became Low Tech.

Like I was saying elsewhere, Girl Genius is the type of books I'd like to see in the future. I would love to see a Powered by GURPS Monster Hunters. Or Madness Dossier. Or IST. Or something else. I look at Monster Hunters as an example and with the material currently available, the line can cover a surprisingly broad range of games, from Weird West to lower power Call of Cthulhu style campaign to Pulp Adventure to modern urban fantasy to Madness Dossier thriller to sci-fi Alien or Predator type campaign. The thing is, if you are not a GURPS specialist, it is close to imˆpossible to know it can do that. When I look at Modiphius 2d20 or Fria Ligan Year Zero Engine and cannot help to think that GURPS could do the same (ie, take the system an adapt it to a specific, complete game). EDIT: Apologies for bringing back an old thread. I was actually looking for what PK was up to and found this one and thought it was relevant before realizing it was 2 years old. |
