[Imbuements] Vengeful Defense
1. When Vengeful Defense returns the damage, does it also return the damage type and any modifiers? For instance, if someone is hit by a cutting attack with an armor divisor, is the returned damage cutting with armor divisor?
2. When a Shield is used with Vengeful defense, how much damage is returned on a fully successful block (block is made by more than the DB of the shield, ie, someone makes a Block roll by 5 when they have a DB 3 shield), so if you are using damage to shields the shield is not damaged. Is the entire damage returned, or only the damage the shield would have absorbed had the shield taken damage? |

1. All aspects of the attack are assumed to be unchanged, except for total distance traveled.
2. If you applied Vengeful Defense to your shield, sure, I'd allow a full reflection. If it's applied to your armor, you just wasted 1 FP. |

Quote:
"For armor … Some effects depend on “damage stopped,” which is always the lower of the damage rolled and the armor’s DR. … If you successfully block with an imbued shield, it usually stops and has the appropriate imbuement effect on all of the attack’s damage, unless this would be sufficient to destroy the shield (see Damage to Shields, p. B484)." (Pyramid #3/4, p. 10) |
