Great Cthulhu then Sidekick: Android (Star Munchkin)
This happened tonight and caused a halt in the game:
Players Purple and Blue were in a fight against a monster. Player Red wandered in Great Cthulhu, which causes Sidekicks to flee. Player Blue then said that he would self-destruct his Sidekick: Android for a +12 bonus. Player Green said that Sidekick: Android couldn't provide the +12 bonus since it had already fled before the Great Cthulhu. Player Blue replied that the Sidekick: Android self-destructed as he fled, which would still provide the bonus. Player Green then said that if the sidekick had already fled, it couldn't activate a self-destruct bonus in the combat. What is the ruling here? |

The Sidekick has to still be there for the ability to trigger. Since it fled, it can't trigger. It doesn't happen "as it flees". It's just gone.

Re: Great Cthulhu then Sidekick: Android (Star Munchkin)
The effect of the The Great Cthulhu is to nullify your Sidekick(s). Once he's part of the combat, you can't use a Sidekick's bonus or special abilities. You can't react to the card's existence because the effect is immediate.
