Default FP Damage and Undead / Machines

What happens when a creature with FP NA is hit by an attack doing FP damage?

For instance - on our game
Party runs into a Vampire, Mage (using RPM) charges up a FP damage spell and wallops it with it

The Vampire has Fatigue NA

What happens?

It gets to ignore the damage.
FP damage represents either a shock or a drain to your energy system and if you use a different system it will have a lesser or no effect.

Any idea where that is from?

Ill admit, I thought it went directly off HT, but I am not sure

Anything with fatigue n/a can neither spend nor lose fatigue. Innate Attack (Fatigue) explicitly states that it does not affect machines.

Refplace and Anthony are right. If you're a machine or otherwise have the "No FP" feature, you simply ignore Fatigue Attacks. You lose HT instead of FP when you have an ability or extra effort that requires you to "spend" your FP -- in that case, you're intentionally overexerting yourself and pushing your limits, making you more likely to break down.

Yep. The immunity to FP drain is nice, sure . . . and how often does that happen? It balances and perhaps more than balances being unable to use extra effort without spending HT, and requiring an Energy Reserve if you wish to use spells, advantages that cost FP by default, etc.

IMO, 'balanced' is indeed an understatement.
'Switching off' whenever you miss a meal, stay 16+ hours awake*, or are not getting enough oxygen.

* == Actually, the last one was not as clear in your reply back when I asked, but it seems like the most close-to-RAW for characters who do need sleep.
