Compartmentalized Minds with Different Limitations
Is it possible to buy versions of Compartmentalized Minds with different limitations on the same character? For example, could the character have Compartmentalized Mind 1 [50] plus levels of Compartmentalized Mind (No Mental Separation -20%, Mentalism -10%) [35/level]? If so, how does Mentalism affect the number of concentrate and unrestricted maneuvers available. For example, standard Compartmentalized Mind allows one unrestricted maneuver and 1 concentrate maneuver. Mentalism makes the extra concentrate work similar to Extra Attack as clarified in Martial Arts (i.e. You get an additional concentrate maneuver only if you use a concentrate maneuver). Therefore, how many maneuvers and of which type would be allowed by Compartmentalized Mind 1 [50] plus Compartmentalized Mind (No Mental Separation -20%, Mentalism -10%) [35]?
Mentalism seems to say two things: 1)This advantage only helps you when you take a Concentrate maneuver. 2) If you Attack, Move, etc., you do not get additional mental actions. So the question is, does (2) refer to all of your maneuvers (i.e. If any of your maneuvers are anything other than concentrate you don't get the extra concentrate maneuvers) or is it a clarification of (1) that just reiterates that you need to use a concentrate maneuver? With the above combination, would you be able to take a move action and then two concentrate maneuvers (the first from the unlimited CM and the second from the limited CM due to taking a concentrate maneuver with the first CM) or would you be limited to only the move and a single concentrate? |

Re: Compartmentalized Minds with Different Limitations
I think you can combine the different types freely, but if you are getting the point break for mentalism, any non-mental maneuver would prohibit them from working.
"Only when I do nothing but concentrate" is how I would interpret it. |
