The problem with names like "Rule of X" or "Roll of X" or whatever is that the name has no content. "Passive 14" would be a much better name because it gives some clue for what the rule is.

I think Passive 14 makes sense. It implies that it gives the information that is obvious to a PC without even trying. You could also borrow from D&D and call it "Taking a 14", which would be understandable to a lot of the gaming community.

Taking 14 and Roll of 14 both work for me; Passive 14 is good too.

A bit late again, but here's today's installment of the Reloading Press. This time we hit one of the big boys on the block, for a while one of the most powerful handgun cartridges in the world - the 44 Magnum.

If you need a hand cannon that you probably can't conceal and which requires large hands and a firm grip to shoot (there's a joke that could be made here, but I won't make it), look no further.

One of my friends carried a long barreled .44 magnum revolver in the days of yore as a Highway Patrolman, and said it was fairly popular as a sidearm then because
1. You could shoot someone through a car, or disable a car with it
2. Massively intimidating
3. Was a true Highway Patrol weapon, no criminal seeking concealment or cop walking a beat would carry such a thing
4. All else failed it made a good club

As a by-the-way, somehow my lead-in paragraph got corrupted. It's fixed now, but if you're wondering why my lead-in was the M41 pulse rifle, that problem has been fixed.

The Auto Mag pistol you mention is incapable of firing the .44 Magnum; it is chambered for the .44 AMP.

Cheers

Er. You've removed the Auto Mag but now state that the Desert Eagle fires the ".44 Auto-Mag" cartridge (AKA .44 AMP). That's the special cartridge that the Auto Mag pistol uses. The Desert Eagle fires the ordinary .44 Magnum revolver cartridge that is the topic of your essay (High-Tech, p. 102).

Cheers

S2E2 of the Aeon campaign continues the investigation into the attempted killing of a wealthy owner of a Forensics Lab, who we suspect is one of the seven scientists from an old lab accident gone wrong and a target for a mad bomber/super-soldier. We get distracted when the Commander's third cousin, a super named Marionette, shows up to inform us that seven of their relatives have been kidnapped. This turns out to be related to the primary case.
