I am stoked for Mars Attacks. I will get both when they come out in PDF.

Third demo session also went well. The secretary of the club is going to help promote it amongst the other 1000+ members. I think there is some potential for people new to RPGs or system agnostic to come along

Places selling it in Australia, some sample interior art and pages and eventually having a copy will help me explain to them that this is something that they can/should buy.

Great - thank you.

The sample pages PDF exists, I believe. It's just a matter of someone at SJGames putting it up at the correct URL.

Amazon UK now have it - at least from an American supplier.

Some time in January I asked the FLGS to order me a copy of Discworld RPG. Due to some mixup they forgot to let me know that it'd arrived, but I was there today and saw the book in the shelves, so I bought it.

It cost me the equivalent of $52.73 which is fair enough. Being curious I checked what it'd have cost me had I ordered it online myself. Amazon doesn't ship it to Iceland at all, so I looked at W23. Including all fees and shipping that option would have cost me about $94. FLGS for the win.

Thanks for buying it. Out of curiosity, how many games shops are there in Iceland?

Today I pieck up my copy of the Discworld RPG at the local store. It looks good, but I will have to digest it slowly, like an anaconda swallowing a boar.

On Friday, I went into my friendly, but not-ultra-efficient, local game shop to ask about my order for Mars Attacks. I ordered it from them at the same time as Discworld, quite early, but had heard nothing.

They had lost their record of the order. They tried making up stories about "maybe it had gone back for a factory rework," but I knew that wasn't true. They checked the online ordering system their distributor (Esdevium) runs, and found the book was not listed. I pointed out the advantages of mail order from someone who actually gets stock, and they thanked me for not doing that and promised to look into it on Monday. They did go to the trouble of getting the ISBN off the SJG website, to make sure they had the right item. Esdevium messed up stocking Discworld although I did eventually get the three copies I wanted from the local shop.

Leisure Games, who are a reasonably efficient mail order place in the UK, list the book, but are out of stock. Amazon.co.uk don't list it. Amazon.com won't ship to the UK themselves. Some of their affiliates seem prepared to accept orders for the UK with reasonable shipping prices, though this may simply mean they haven't thought about it and will cancel the order when they realise. Ordering from Warehouse 23 involves high shipping costs - I know those aren't SJG's fault, but I'd still have to pay them.

It seems getting physical GURPS products from the UK distribution system requires a lot of chasing up, and general effort. I'm not actually that interested in Mars Attacks. I was trying to buy it to support GURPS. But PDFs seem more and more like the practical way of doing that over here.
